  • Recommendation

    THAT the Regular Council Meeting Agenda of July 16, 2024 be adopted.

  • Recommendation

    THAT the Regular Council Meeting Minutes of July 2, 2024 be adopted.

  • Recommendation

    THAT the Special Council Meeting Minutes of July 4, 2024 be adopted.

The annual self-guided Carr’s Landing Art Tour is taking place July 27 & 28 as well as Aug 3 & 4.  

Rezoning from RR3 – Rural Residential 3 to RM5 – Medium Density Multiple Housing

  • Recommendation

    THAT Zoning Amendment (Z0000276) Bylaw 1239, 2024 be read a first, second and third time;

    AND THAT prior to adoption, the applicant enter into a rental housing agreement with the District to secure rental units on the subject properties for a 10 year term;

    AND THAT prior to adoption, the District secure a minimum of 2.4 m wide road dedication along 11615 Bottom Wood Lake Road.

The proposed bylaw would allow for a bare land strata subdivision of an existing parcel zoned DC5 – Direct Control 5 (Crystal Waters)

  • Recommendation

    THAT Zoning Amendment (Z0000331) Bylaw 1240, 2024 be read a first, second and third time.

A Non-Farm Use Application to allow special events in a farm building on a property in the Agricultural Land Reserve

  • Recommendation

    THAT Agricultural Land Reserve ALR00178 application for Non-Farm Use on the property at 1090 Camp Road, legally described as LOT 4 SECTION 20 TOWNSHIP 20 OSOYOOS DIVISION YALE DISTRICT PLAN 1657, Roll 02763.000 be supported;

    AND THAT ALR00178 application for Non-Farm Use be forwarded to the Agricultural Land Commission.

Renewed Community Works Fund Agreement is ready to be entered into with the Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM).

  • Recommendation

    THAT the Mayor and Corporate Officer be authorized to sign the 2024-2034 Community Works Fund Agreement with the Union of British Columbia Municipalities under the Administrative Agreement on the Canada Community-Building Fund on behalf of the District of Lake Country

Main Street Tax Revitalization Bylaw 853, 2013.

  • Recommendation

    THAT staff be directed to review and update Main Street Tax Revitalization Bylaw 853, 2013 with the goal of ensuring the Main Street revitalization tax exemption program continues to support the growth and development of Main Street in a manner that reflects current economic realities and community needs.

Fire density Development Cost Charge (DCC) review.

  • Recommendation

    THAT staff be directed review the current density bonusing (fire facilities and equipment reserve) fee and investigate other opportunities to fund fire services as a result of growth in the community and report back to Council.
